Dr Emily Munn Bsc., ND

Naturopathic Doctor

My approach is listening and caring for the whole person while finding and treating the root cause of symptoms and disease. My areas of focus are PCOS, PMS, endometriosis, menopause, acne, infertility, thyroid dysfunction, and adrenal health.

About Me

Functional medicine presented itself to me after being disappointed with the standard treatment options offered to me when faced with my own health challenges. After completing my bachelor degree at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where I played NCAA Division One soccer, I returned home to beautiful British Columbia to study naturopathic medicine. I graduated from Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM) where I completing my 4 years of naturopathic medical school with certification in Acupuncture

I have advanced training in bio-identical hormone therapy, menopause and fertility – working collaboratively with some of the top fertility clinics in the lower mainland. At BINM, I served on the Boucher Botanical Garden committee, traveled to Nicaragua with Natural Doctors International, and completed part of my 1500+ clinical intern hours at Family Naturopathic Clinic in Victoria, B.C. as well as an externship with Mama Baby Haiti in Cap Haitian, Haiti.

While having extensive training in general family medicine, my primary focus is in women’s health: PCOS, PMS, endometriosis, menopause, acne, infertility, thyroid conditions, and adrenal function. My clinical practice achieves root-cause health solutions using  acupuncture, herbal medicine, diet & lifestyle counselling, vitamins & minerals, functional lab tests and bio-identical hormone therapy. I am part of a collaborative team of caring health care practitioners at Living Wellness Centre located in beautiful South Surrey, BC.

In my spare time, I enjoy trail running with my pup, practicing yoga, swimming, snowboarding, and camping in our Westy with my young daughters and husband.

Acupuncture is a 3,000 year old healing technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is used in the treatment a wide range of conditions from headaches and chronic pain, to fertility and hot flashes.

Herbal Medicine

Using plants as medicine dates back centuries. In fact, some well known pharmaceutical drugs are rooted in the healing properties of plants.

Holistic Counseling

With a truly holistic approach, if the body is acting up, the mind and spirit may be out of balance too.

Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is unlike conventional or synthetic hormone replacement therapy because it is using the exact same molecular structure as your own natural hormones.

Clinical Nutrition

What you put into your body affects every part of your physiology. Let your food be your friend and your medicine.

Laboratory testing

Laboratory testing can help uncover the cause of illness and disease while giving insight into disease prevention and how to best treat a specific condition.

Nutraceuticals or supplements when prescribed by a licensed naturopathic doctor are powerful and useful medicines with fewer side effects than pharmaceutical drugs.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen therapy is a gentle hands-on technique based in osteopathy used in the treatment of various conditions, most notably chronic pain and stress-related conditions.

Injectable Therapies

Certain vitamins, minerals, and homeopathics can be injected for rapid recovery and optimal health.
